(address will be given to those who RSVP)

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is looking for 5 or 6 volunteers to help purging items on their site.  Items will need to be sorted and put into inventory.  Some will be donated to Goodwill or thrown away.  We need 1 person with a Truck that could load things and deliver larger items to Goodwill.  Truck person would be available at 11:30am.

Games/Puzzles:               Two (2) people to go through the games and check for missing parts; making decisions with us as to whether the game should be kept, given to Goodwill or tossed. We will then organize the games on 2-3 shelves and type up an inventory of what we have. If one of these people could bring a laptop or iPad to make the inventory list and then send to us at a later date we could print it and put it up in the cabinet. (In the alternative, we can also have someone just write it out and I can type if up later – happy to do that.)

Sewing/Knitting:             One (1) person - Looking for a seamstress, someone familiar with sewing machines that would be a great help. We have two sewing machines and not sure how well they are working. We need someone to check these out and also work on that part of the closet and help organize fabrics/yarns, etc.

Kitchen:                               We need one (1) person to go through our kitchen cabinets – again, throwing out what needs to be tossed or making a Goodwill pile and making a list of utensils/measuring spoons, etc. or plates, that we might purchase to have the basics for making a cake, cookies, cupcakes, pizza, etc.

Art Supplies/Craftsand misc. toys:                  One (1) person to go through all the craft supplies – paints, papers, stamps, etc. We will need to replenish paints, and get additional tubs for storing and labeling the supplies for the next run through, but just going through and organizing what we have and tossing what is old and not useable is a great start. We also have a few misc. toys (Legos etc. – that need to be checked out for parts).

CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are volunteers and ordinary citizens, like you, doing extraordinary work. CASA advocates establish stable relationships with foster children, getting to know their unique history and making informed recommendations to the courts. When a child has an advocate, he/she is more likely to get needed services — and a permanent, stable home.   Learn more at https://sonomacasa.org/
