The JLNS Community Outreach Council is asking each of the 3 councils to coordinate a donation of one complete "go bag" for the Valley of the Moon Foundation.  The blue replacement bag program is a service for the foster children going into emergency placements.  Each bag is created based on the age ( infants up to age 8), gender and season (spring/summer & fall/winter) with the intent to supply enough clothing to last for 3 days.  This allows the foster parent to focus on the child and introducing them to their new home rather than having to worry about running to the store to get the basic needs for the child.  The bag belongs to the child and if he/she transitions to another home it goes with them.  Due to the Glass Fire, all the bags they have been collecting need to be replaced.

The greatest need right now is for infant sizes.  We would like each council to collect items with the assigned themes:

Community Outreach - boy 3m fall/winter

Fund Development - girl newborn fall/winter

Membership - boy newborn fall/winter

One set includes the following items:

  • Pjs
  • Jacket or Sweatshirt
  • Clothing (3 sets of pants and tops)
  • Onesies
  • Swaddles
  • Burp cloths
  • Toy
  • Stuffed animal (ones without removable eyes or parts so that they can be given to babies)
  • Quilt
  • Book
  • Hair brush/nail clipper/emory board set
  • Socks

Items should all be new and unused.  Community Outreach will provide each council with a navy 30" duffle bag.  Bags should be completed by Saturday, January 16, 2021.

Thank you!  Questions, email:  membership@jlns.org.
